The FareStart MISSION

Children’s Academy (CA) is an independent private school teaching kindergarten through eighth grade. We are located in Kent and are non-profit and non-sectarian.

CA is dedicated to the education of the whole child in a challenging yet supportive environment. We provide our students with a strong academic foundation and foster the active use of their knowledge and skills. Our ultimate goal is to instill a life-long passion for learning enabling our students to contribute their wisdom, compassion and leadership in a rapidly changing world.

Our school is a small community; no class has more than ten students. As one of our students said, “This is more like a family than a school.” We pride ourselves on the fact that our students love to come to school and love learning. The people — the children, the families, and the teachers — are what make our school so special!

Rise n’ Shine:

Since 1988, Rise n' Shine, has been providing emotional support programs, stability, advocacy, and AIDS education for children and teens affected by HIV and AIDS. This includes children and teens who have been orphaned by the disease, children and teens who live with a parent or other close family member with HIV or AIDS, and those who are infected themselves.
